Who We Serve

Restoration Destination serves men and women returning from incarceration who are ready to rebuild their lives within a safe, stable and accountable community.

Our residential program is not the right setting for every returning citizen. We generally give preference to first-time offenders and individuals who demonstrate a sincere commitment to positive change. Because the safety and stability of our entire community are paramount, applicants with histories of repeated or violent offenses may not be appropriate for our program.

Restoration Destination is also not an addiction-treatment facility. Individuals whose primary need is substance-use treatment may be better served by organizations specifically equipped to provide those services.

Readiness Matters

We look beyond the conviction to learn about the individual.

Our intake process includes multiple interviews, a personal autobiography and a review of the applicant’s history while incarcerated. We look for evidence of responsibility and readiness for change: a positive disciplinary record, voluntary participation in educational or personal-development programs, constructive use of time, and other indications that an applicant is prepared to participate fully in the Restoration Destination community.

Faith is central to our ministry, and we welcome applicants who have developed or maintained a meaningful faith connection during incarceration. At the same time, successful reentry requires personal responsibility. We seek people who are prepared not simply to receive an opportunity, but to participate actively in making the most of it.

Serving Those Facing
the Greatest Barriers

We also specialize in helping one of the most marginalized groups of people reentering society—those who return as registered sex offenders. This group faces a particular set of challenges upon release that Restoration Destination has extensive experience navigating. These may include probation, counseling, restrictions and conditions of release.

We believe every life is worthy of redemption, and we are grateful to have been a conduit through which so many individuals have successfully returned to society, rebuilt their lives and found a place to call home.

Restoration does not excuse the past; it recognizes that the past does not have to determine the future. We believe accountability and compassion can coexist, that public safety is strengthened when people have a genuine opportunity to rebuild, and that every returning citizen should be judged not only by where they have been, but also by what they are doing with the life before them.

Our responsibility is to provide the stability, guidance, opportunity and accountability that make lasting change possible—and to invite our communities to reject permanent exclusion in favor of informed understanding.
