Everybody should have a place to live. After incarceration, a stable home provides a place to begin rebuilding your life.

Many people leave prison with no permanent home at all. That does not mean they all end up living in the woods or sleeping on the street. Many simply stay on someone’s couch tonight, somewhere else tomorrow, never quite knowing where they will be living next week.

Housing instability is a perfect recipe for confusion, distraction and defeat at precisely the time when someone is trying to rebuild a life.

What RD Provides

Restoration Destination meets your housing needs wherever you may be in your reentry journey. Both short- and long-term housing are available, with a flexible month-to-month lease and no security deposit.

A modest intake fee covers the administrative work involved in preparing for your arrival, which can begin as far as six months before your release. It also provides you with a brand-new bed, bedding and comforter, a pillow, and a selection of personal and household essentials—from shavers to laundry detergent.

Our transitional housing is structured around your initial release, beginning with a roommate in one of our group homes. Shortly afterward, residents may transition into our larger community and their own bedroom, providing the personal space and home base from which they can begin putting down roots and building back.

A Community,
Not Just a Bed

We are so much more than a roof over your head. Restoration Destination is a close-knit community, and we have each other’s backs. Success here is not measured only individually. When our residents support one another, accept shared responsibilities and work together, the entire community becomes stronger.

We offer safety, structure and fellowship. You have personal space, but we also share responsibilities to one another and to the community we call home. Our non-denominational church, Jacob’s Destiny, provides spiritual guidance and fellowship, while our staff offers practical advice and support for the everyday challenges of rebuilding a life.

Unlike many transitional housing programs, you are not bound by a rapid 30-, 60- or 90-day timetable in which everything must somehow be accomplished. Our program is structured around individual needs. A person can stay long enough to genuinely stabilize their life before reaching for the next goal.
