The Covid-19 virus has certainly affected everyone’s daily life. We are changing how we do things, but the needs of our residents must still be met.
While we have temporarily cancelled church services and Bible studies, Pastor Mike will be going door-to-door to preach, pray, and administer Communion while we’re unable to congregate.
We’ve suspended our weekly shopping trips to Wal-Mart and our staff is working hard to order items online and have them shipped to our resident’s homes.
We had planned to attend a mission fair at a local church, as we do every year, but it was cancelled. Normally we would meet new people who would support our mission, but this year we didn’t have the opportunity.
Out of concern for everyone’s health and safety, we have cancelled our annual fundraising banquet which was scheduled for April 16th. This event normally provides us with operating expenses through the summer.
Men and women will continue to be released from our jails and prisons, need a safe and secure place to live and still need our help. Our next anticipated arrival will be April 2nd when we will drive to the prison, ensure that he meets his legal and probationary requirements and bring him home, where a bed, bedding and all the supplies he’ll need to get started await. I anticipate we will need to do the same for 25-30 others by the end of the year.
Your prayers and support are more important than ever. May God bless you and may God bless America.
